How Car Issue Check Works

We translate large, unorganized public safety files and manufacturer guidance into practical, step-by-step pre-purchase inspection advice.

  1. Select Your Vehicle

    Choose the model year, make, and model you are considering. Optionally enter the 17-character VIN to narrow the exact factory configuration (trim, engine, drivetrain).

  2. We Organize Public Data

    The report gathers and structures scattered public records: owner complaints, federal safety recalls, safety investigations, crash-test ratings, and manufacturer service guidance.

  3. Reported Patterns Are Grouped

    Related complaints are clustered into reported issue patterns by system (engine, electrical, visibility…), with symptoms in plain language. Grouping describes reporting activity — never failure rates.

  4. Inspection Priorities Are Generated

    Each pattern becomes practical guidance: a phase-organized inspection checklist, copyable seller questions, a test-drive plan, and targeted checks for your mechanic.

  5. You Review the Limitations

    Every report states what the data cannot show: individual condition, accident history, title status, odometer accuracy, or future behavior. Insufficient data is labeled honestly.

  6. Specific-Vehicle History Is Separate

    For the individual car, we recommend a VIN-specific recall lookup and a separate vehicle-history report — followed by a professional pre-purchase inspection. We do not provide either.
