Check a Used Vehicle

See reported issue patterns, recalls, manufacturer service guidance, and a tailored pre-purchase inspection checklist before you contact the seller.

Select Vehicle Configuration

Start with Year, Make, and Model. VIN is optional.

17 Alphanumeric Characters

What a VIN adds: Entering a VIN can help identify exact trim and configurations (e.g. 1.5T engine vs. 2.0T engine), but does not retrieve accident logs, salvage titles, odometer rollbacks, or service histories directly. Always supplement this research with a paid vehicle-history report and professional mechanic inspection.

Where to find a vehicle's VIN

The 17-character vehicle identification number is on the driver's-side dashboard corner (visible through the windshield) and on the certification label inside the driver's door pillar. Ask the seller for the VIN before driving out to see the car in person.
